Carlos West, born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, is no stranger to the plight that faces our city’s youth. As a veteran of the Illinois National Guard, a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and a Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity member, focus and discipline remain at the core of his teachings and fundamental values as a mentor.
Mr. West, a former State of Illinois certified educator of K-9, has utilized his knowledge to expose students to areas relating to the key fundamentals of learning in not only his classrooms but in his social center programs as well. He coached basketball and football, teaching his athletes the importance of working together to accomplish shared goals.
Mr. West’s contrived the idea of ONE TEAM ONE PLAN ONE BRAND as a course of action to combat the violence that has plagued minority communities. By providing our youth alternatives to the socioeconomic factors that often plague communities of color, Carlos believes that we can overcome the obstacles threatening their very existence, development, and growth.
He has had hands-on training as a youth advocate program coordinator for young boys of ages 14-24. This experience has made him realize that we must reach our youth as young as possible and give them the means at an early age to be productive members of society before the negative aspects of society(gangs, crime, drugs, etc.) come into play.
The ideology of excellence by example and leadership.
