Carlos Tucker

Carlos Tucker has spent his life using his personal and professional experiences to assist and help marginalized populations, those with no voice, and those in need. As the son and grandson of Baptist and Methodist Pastors, helping people is part of his biological DNA. Carlos knows personally that people experience hardships, specifically minority children in underprivileged and underserved neighborhoods.

Carlos attended Percy L. Julian H.S and was City Diving Champ and a 4yr letterman on SIU Carbondale Diving Team. Carlos received his B.S. in 1993 from SIU-C and a Master of Science degree in Human Services in 2012. Carlos has been gainfully employed as a social worker full-time while working in aquatics part-time after graduating from SIU-C. His experience in social work is vast including mentoring young men transitioning from being wards of the state into adulthood, licensing foster homes, and working with mental health issues in communities of color. He is currently an Aquatics Management Professional/Real Estate Investor.

Carlos has a unique approach to helping our youth. He experienced hardships while in college, which could have derailed him; however, with the assistance of various mentors from different walks of life, Mr. Tucker overcame those obstacles and changed the trajectory of his life. Carlos has the acute awareness of there being no unilateral cure-all to those in need. Rather, it takes a multi-disciplinary approach method with professional and experienced people from vast backgrounds, emphasizing providing resources to minority children and women.
